What To See and Do In McMinnville

We love McMinnville! Surrounded by green lush pasture land, orchards and wineries. From Old Town Third Street lined by wine bars, restaurants, the best breakfast cafe in the U.S., Crescent Cafe , to the gorgeous Pacific Coast just 40 minutes West. Mack as it is affectionately called by locals is a treasure!

Old Town McMinnville

It was Third Street that helped seal our decision to live nearby. Certainly not jostling but small town cosy, it hosts several wine bars, some first class restaurants, the Crescent Cafe ( breakfast here lasts you the whole day!), antique dealers, a first class bakery at the Red Fox and a friendly community feel. The heritage style of the buildings just adds to its allure.

Our suggestions of places to visit:

The Pacific Coast

Al is a surfer and spends some time out there and the entire coast is flat out stunning anytime of the year. Here is an interactive website that gives you a virtual tour in a sense. Al's suggestion is Pacific City to have lunch at a really cool brew pub right on the sand then head up to Cape Look Out  for a bit of hiking and whale watching.

Link to the Pacific Coast Oregon   This is an iteractive website and your starting point would be Lincoln City the closest to Pucara International and Hwy 18.

Evergreen Musuem

An incredible facility that hosts the famous Spruce Goose, a 3D Imax Theater, a Space Museum and the new Ebergreen water Park with a huge bloody 747 sitting right on top of the building which is the start of their water slide!

The Columbia Gorge and Mt. Hood

The first time we laid eyes on the Columbia and Mt. Hood we were gob smacked. Each in their own right is spectacular. A fauvorite place of ours to hang at is Hood River...kite boarding, windsurfing, out rigger canoeing, mountain biking or just hiking, this place rules! And standing behind like a magnetic sentinel is the awe inspiring Mt Hood. Check out our pics below.

Visit the Wineries

There are literally hundreds of them, several like Maysara on our road. The Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris produced in the Willamette Valley are world class. The vineyards themselves are often spectacular. These are pics from Maysara Vineyard opposite our property.
